Alarming Surge in Racial Attacks on Healthcare Workers: A Two-Year Review
A disturbing trend has emerged in the healthcare sector, with the number of reported racially motivated assaults on health staff doubling over the past two years. According to a freedom of information request response from Health and Care Jersey (HCJ), 29 such incidents were reported in 2024, marking a significant increase from 14 in 2022 and 15 in 2023. This upward trend in racial attacks on healthcare workers is a cause for concern, highlighting the need for increased awareness and measures to prevent discrimination and ensure a safe working environment.
