The theatre industry is taking strides towards greater inclusivity, with two new plays showcasing improved disability representation. As a person with cerebral palsy, it's heartening to see characters that reflect my experiences on stage. However, despite this progress, there's still a long way to go in achieving authentic and diverse representation in the performing arts. With the rise of inclusive storytelling and accessible theatre, we can hope for a future where everyone can see themselves reflected in the stories being told, promoting disability awareness and social inclusion. Key initiatives like accessible theatre and inclusive casting are paving the way for a more diverse and representative industry.
