Beloved Rotarian Mark Manning Remembered for Decades of Dedicated Service in Hobart
The Rotary Club of Hobart is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mark Frederick Manning, a cherished member for an incredible 47 years. Mark, recognised as a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF+1), leaves behind a legacy of unwavering dedication and impactful contributions to the club and the wider Hobart community.
Mark’s commitment to the Rotary Club was truly remarkable. He wasn't just a member; he was an active participant, a passionate advocate, and a driving force behind some of our most successful and enduring initiatives. He is particularly remembered for his pioneering role in establishing the Art Show, a beloved fundraiser that has become a staple in our annual calendar. For years, he tirelessly dedicated his time and energy to ensuring its success, fostering a love of art and raising crucial funds for charitable causes.
Beyond the Art Show, Mark was also a key figure in the organisation of Sail Day, another long-standing and popular Rotary event. His involvement extended far beyond simply attending; he was a hands-on contributor, working diligently to make each Sail Day a memorable and enjoyable experience for all involved. His dedication to these events, and countless others, demonstrated his genuine desire to give back to the community and support the Rotary Club’s mission.
More than his tangible contributions, Mark will be remembered for the warmth of his friendship and the respect he earned from his fellow Rotarians.
